Burns Night Dinner & Ceilidh
Burns Night is traditionally celebrated on 25 January, Robert Burns' birthday. And very fortunately Burns Night falls on a Saturday in 2020, allowing for a Burns Weekend Getaway if you'd like, or a Saturday Burns Night Celebration and sleepover, and plenty of time on Sunday for a leisurely full breakfast if you'd prefer. Non-residents also very welcome.
Why a Scottish celebration in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk you may ask? Read all about it on our blog, it's not just the tartan carpet in reception that's Scottish!
Burns Night features all sorts of traditions including the Celtic grace, bagpipes, a Toast to the Haggis (cooked very much the Imperial way, as it's not everyone's cup of tea), the Immortal Memory, a Toast to the Lassies, and the Lassies' response as well as a delicious Scottish themed four course meal, cooked with flair by our fabulous 2 AA Rosettte Café Cru chefs. All this is followed by lively Scottish dancing to our live céilidh band. And don't worry about not knowing the steps, our céilidh caller will guide you through all the dances, from Stripping the Willow to all sorts of reels and jigs with ease. It's a superb night out, perfect for groups of friends or family members to enjoy together, whether you're Scottish or not.
Black tie, tartans or lounge suit.
Make a weekend of it, arrive on Friday 24th January and enjoy a meal in Café Cru Restaurant that evening and breakfast on the Terrace on Saturday morning. Maybe take a walk up to the Time & Tide Museum during the day on Saturday before the big Burns Night dinner and cèilidh celebration that evening. BOOK ONLINE NOW.
