Under Starters Orders on The Terrace
Start your Race Day Relay on The Terrace at 12noon sharp for afternoon race meetings in Great Yarmouth. A later start is recommended before an evening race meeting. Whether you want a proper lunch with two substantial courses before your trip to the races, or a lighter two course option, choose from our extensive menu.
The Terrace is perfect for informal dining before the races get underway, with plenty of time for you to jump in a taxi or in your car and get to Great Yarmouth racecourse before starter's orders. If you've got the time and it's an evening meeting starting around 5pm, you could even ejoy your meal, then stroll the 1.2 miles from the hotel to the racecourse. Not recommended for taxi to table shoes on Ladies' Day however!
Race Day Relays must be pre-booked so that we can reserve your table for you. Depending on numbers, we may also ask you to pre-order your food for your first leg so that we can guarantee you'll make it to the race meeting on time.
Race Day Relay Private Dining
If you're entertaining corporate clients, you might want to consider a private dining room for you and your guests as part of your Race Day Relay. Our Race Day Relay is perfect for client entertainment and more formal dining before the fixture, with plenty of time for everyone to get to the races in time to inspect the form.
Afterwards, a more informal atmosphere can be enjoyed when you return for the second leg of your relay.
You could start and finish your Race Day Relay in a private dining room if you wish, or perhaps start in a private dining room, then adjourn to The Terrace or to Café Cru Restaurant after the race meeting, via Bar Fizz. To be sure of getting to the races on time, you'll need to pre-order and be sitting down to the menu of your choice by 12noon sharp for afternoon meetings. We can cater for 12 to 30 people in our private dining rooms.
Whether you want a proper lunch with two substantial courses before your trip to the races, or a lighter buffet option for example, choose from our extensive menu or call us to dicuss your requirements. Pre-ordering will be essential for larger groups of people.

Perfect for trainers, owners & jockeys
Renowned for it's fine fish, exquisitely cooked with flair and precision, we're delighted to offer a substantial fish menu on race day in Café Cru.
Café Cru has an intimate atmosphere, with large and small tables, including a number of booths, perfect for pre-race trainer / owner dicussions. There's always at least two fish dishes on our à la carte menu, but on race day, we really go to town and offer fabulous fish, which we know owners, trainers and jockeys used to love at the former Seafood Restaurant. With our 2 AA Rosette award, the quality of our food is guaranteed, and our customer service is widely known to be exceptional.
If eating before your race, to ensure your meal is ready in time for you to get to the race course, which is just a 4 minute drive away along the seafront and rarely sees queues on race day, pre-ordering is highly recommended. Please advise us what time you need to leave when booking.
We would be equally as delighted to welcome you after your race, whether celebrating or dicussing tactics for your next outing.
