The hotel with a special touch of class – in a glass.
The Imperial Hotel at Great Yarmouth has added a very special drink to its already impressive list of refreshments. ‘The Imperial Special’ is a cocktail created by the hotel during its 80th Anniversary year.
Owner and world class sommelier Nick Mobbs said, ‘We wanted to create something that marked the anniversary, but would also be a part of the Imperial’s future. Cocktails have never been out of fashion but they are hugely popular right now. ‘The Imperial Special’ is a sophisticated cocktail, but with a modern twist’.
Developed by enthusiastic staff at the hotel who held, very responsible, tasting sessions to gauge opinion and taste, the cocktail contains gin, dry martini, cherry brandy and cranberry juice. Shaken over ice it’s served garnished with a cherry.
‘The Imperial has been around a long time now’, said Nick’s wife and co-director Aileen, ‘and we think there are lots of things that make it special. The Imperial Special cocktail is our way of celebrating our heritage as well as meeting today’s taste. It’s already proving popular’.
The Imperial Hotel is on North Drive at Great Yarmouth. As Nick says, ‘What better way to see the sun go down than from our Terrace, with an Imperial Special?’ People seem to be agreeing.
