2007 Rioja Rosado, Vina Cerrada (Spain) |
Red Wine
2007 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Umani Ronchi (Italy) Medium bodied with some redcurrant and plummy fruit structure but can be enjoyed on its own. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is one of the most widespread native varieties of Italy, mainly along the Adriatic coast.
2007 Malbec, Amalaya Colome (Argentina) This is a glittering deep red wine, with purple tinges. It offers fruity aromas, resembling cherries and raspberries, and a subtle vanilla scent coming from barrel ageing.
2007 Merlot Reserva, De Gras, Colchagua Valley (Chile) Rich and intensely red in the glass with a generously aromatic, ripe nose loaded with blackberry and plum fruit.
2006 Shiraz My Word Is My Bond, Peter Lehmann (Australia) Deep garnet rim with a black centre. Lashings of dark chocolate on the nose. Showing the classic richness of Barossa.
White Wines
2008 Pinot Grigio delle Venezie, Veritere (Italy) A crisp and characterful version of this Italian classic.
2007 Chenin Blanc, Stormy Cape (South Africa) Pale in colour with an enticingly citrus nose, this is a typically racy South African Chenin.
2008 Terret/Viognier, Lérane Vin de Pays d'Oc (France) The wine is straw in colour with an enticingly aromatic nose reminiscent of peach blossom, ripe apples and white stone fruit.
2008 Sauvignon Blanc Reserva, De Gras (Chile) Straw yellow in colour with delicate citrus and melon aromas and a hint of fresh cut grass.
2008 Chardonnay Weighbridge, Peter Lehmann, Barossa (Australia) The palate is packed with soft fruit, giving a generous middle palate, balanced by a delightfully crisp acidity and finishing long with lingering peach flavours.
The above are a sample of our recommended House Wines.
